Pavitra Punia started her career with the MTV reality show Splitsvilla 3, which aired in 2009. She was one of the finalists in the show that took place in Phuket. Thereafter, she got her first lead role in the Star Plus show Love U Zindagi, opposite Siddharth Shukla. She was also a part of the Life OK reality show Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki. She then acted in the Mukul Mishra-directed movie Siddhartha - Love, Lust, Peace, which stars Mahesh Bhatt, Shivam Bhargava and Shazahn Padamsee. Punia has also been a part of other shows including Ritz Jeele Yeh Pal, MTV Making The Cut 2, Hongey Judaa Na Hum, Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto and Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. She portrayed the role of the lead antagonist Niddhi Chhabra in the Star Plus show Ye Hai Mohabbatein. She also played a shape-shifting snake for a mahaepisode in Zee Tv’s Kaleerein. Then she was cast as Poulomi Roy in the third season of Colors TV's Naagin. As of December 2018, she is seen portraying the lead antagonist role of Chandrika/Queen Chandravati Devi, a Daayan, in &TV's Daayan.

She participated in Splitsvilla 3. She also played Simran Ahluwalia in Sawaare Sabke Sapne... Preeto and Paulomi Roy in Naagin 3. She has also worked in Honge Judaa Naa Hum as Anushka. Kavach... Kaali Shaktiyon Se as Ritu, Chandrika in Daayan. She is currently seen playing an evil fairy named Timnasa in the 2nd season of the popular SAB TV sitcom Baal Veer , Baalveer Returns.

Pavitra Punia was raised in Delhi (Police Lines Quarters Pitampura) and was born as Neha Singh on 22 August 1988 in Hisawada, District-Baghpat (U.P.). She has one brother, Anurag Singh.She did her schoolingfrom Rohini New Delhi. She wanted to be an IPS Officer and received 1.5 years coaching (UPSC)for it, along with her graduation. She also did a Diploma in Hospitality & Aviation, and joined Kingfisher Airlines before getting into acting.
