In 2010 she stars in the series "Maternidade" on RTP 1, and debuts at the Portuguese National Theater D. Maria II, playing Stella in Tennessee's "A Street Car Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams, directed by Diogo Infante.

In 2009 she participates in the television series "Living in your car", produced by David Steinberg for HBO Canada, in a Portuguese co-production by beActive.

Between 2006 and 2008, she takes on leading roles on several musical production, directed by Filipe La Féria.

Has a daughter, Júlia Moniz Bettencourt (b. June 8, 2004, in Açores, Portugal).

But it is during the year of 2003, that the young actress, makes her major industry breakthrough getting cast in the blockbuster British film, "Love Actually", by Richard Curtis.

Represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 in Oslo, and got the best result ever for a Portuguese song in that contest. The song was called "O Meu Coração Não tem Cor," which means "My heart doesn't have a color.".

Lúcia Moniz, born on September 9, 1976, in Lisbon, is the daughter of Azorean musicians, Carlos Alberto Moniz and Maria do Amparo. At the age of 6 enrolled in her music training at Santa Cecília Music Academy, achieving her 6th degree. Besides four edited discographic works, throughout her musical career, she has also engaged on several partnership with artists such as Nuno Bettencourt, Jorge Palma, Maria do Amparo, among others. Apart from music, Lúcia has also developed a deep passion in the theatre field. Making several appearances on Portuguese Tv and theatre.

The father of Júlia is Lúcia's ex-partner Donovan Bettencourt (born 1975), a musician who plays in a band called Mourning Widows.
