In 1971, Kevin and his family were about to move to Fort Worth, Texas due to the separation of his parents. His neighbors, Joan and Walter Mondale, decided to give Kevin their cat (Patches) which he had grown very fond of during their 3-year stay in Washington DC. "Patches" Mondale would live the rest of her life as a Texan and Walter Mondale would later become Vice-President of the United States.

In 2018, he was briefly a documentary curator for the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF). MPTF was formerly know as the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital. Hattie McDaniel and Sam McDaniel, Kevin's great-grandaunt and great-granduncle, both passed away at the hospital there in Woodland Hills. Hattie died of breast cancer on October 26, 1952 and Sam of throat cancer on September 24, 1962.

Great-grandnephew of actor Sam McDaniel. Sam was an actor in The Great Lie (1941), The Ghost and the Guest (1943), The Amos & Andy Show (1951), I Love Lucy (as Sam the Porter), the only time a black performer had lines on the show (1955), and Wagon Train (1958).

The great-grandnephew of Hollywood's first black artist to win an Oscar (actress Hattie McDaniel, for her work on the 1939 film Gone with the Wind), Goff continues to honor her legacy by inspiring the newest generation to take courage from her trailblazing accomplishments.

Great-grandson of actress Etta McDaniel. Etta was a producer along with her sister Hattie McDaniel for the McDaniel Sisters Company (a vaudeville and stage act) and an actress in the films King Kong (1933), the Prisoner of Shark Island (1936), and the Son of Dracula (1943).
