His coaching career spans many years and in 2010 he was head coach of the Kuwait senior men's team. He has held many head coaching positions at both senior and junior level, Internationally and on the club scene. Among st his achievements so far are:-Kuwait Coach of the Year 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Head Coach to the Gulf Championship winning Kuwait Youth National Team Head Coach to numerous Championship winning junior club teams in Bahrain. He is a well known coach in the Persian Gulf region. In 2011 he became the first Kuwaiti basketball coach worked outside of Kuwait, when he was hired by Al-Ahli Club (Manama). In July 2018, Coach Faisal has agreed with the newcomer team for the basketball league in Kuwait Al-Qurain SC to be the head coach of the team in season 2018-2019.

Faisal started playing basketball in 1975 in Al-Qadsia Kuwaiti Club till 1990. Due to the Invasion of Kuwait in 1990 he moved to play in Bahrain, season of 1990-1991, with Al-Ahli Club (Manama) Club. afterwards, he returned to Kuwait to play for Al Qadsia club, his primary club, where he ended his playing career in 1999. In 1980 & 1981 he was selected by 6 American universities to receive a scholarship for playing in NCAA, back then not many of Arab players got such chance to show their talents in American College League Faisal played for Kuwaiti national basketball team between since 1978 until 1997, then became the team's captain in 1991, selected one of the top 12 players in Asia two times in 1983 and 1986.
