Edward John Barber was born in Heidelberg, Germany on 15 July 2000 to Kevin Barber, a British-German entrepreneur, and Cathy Barber (née Abellera), a Filipina. He has an older sister named Laura who currently resides in the United Kingdom. As a child, their family would spend every Christmas in his mother's home town in Santa Lucia, Aringay, La Union, Philippines.
