David Joseph Hutchison (born May 2, 1952, in London, Ontario) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. Hutchison played for the Philadelphia Blazers and Vancouver Blazers of the World Hockey Association, plus the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks and New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. He was noted for his aggressive, hard-nosed defensive play more than his offensive prowess. In 681 career professional games, he racked up 1735 penalty minutes to go along with 131 points, and often played in a defensive tandem with more flashy defensemen such as Borje Salming and Doug Wilson. He retired in 1983.
