Since then, he was nominated three times at the Golden Horse Awards, and several times for best actor at the Berlinale and the Cannes Film Festival. He won Best Actor at the 3rd Osaka Asia Film Festival for his performance in The Go Master. Chang's outstanding versatile performance, coupled with his diligent learning attitude, made him the favorite cast of world's renowned directors.
