Brian was born in East Orange, NJ, but grew up in Parsippany, NJ. Upon graduation from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ in 1983, Brian began working at NBC in New York. After doing a variety of work, he settled into his role as a production assistant, and then writer and producer in the promotions department, working on Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Later with Bob Costas, Last Call with Carson Daly, The Today Show, Dateline and Nightly News.

Brian was at Yankee Stadium in 1976 when Chris Chambliss hit his pennant-winning home run, 1978 when Ron Guidry struck out 18 batters, 1996 when the Yanks won their 23rd World Series Championship and the last game ever at the old Yankee Stadium in 2008. Brian also attended the Rutgers home win over then-ranked #3 Louisville in 2006. And Brian has been at all three New Jersey Devils' number retirement ceremonies.
