2005

Angela Patricia Brigitta Thompson was born in Southern Ontario, Canada to Scottish and French immigrants yet would go missing as a toddler. There was a notice in a local newspaper that failed to reach her Biological Family who spent time between France and Canada. Angela would be adopted and raised by The Thompson Family in Escarpment Country, where she enjoyed picking strawberries with her Mum and learning to fish with her Papa. In JK she won the public speaking contest with a poem from a Highlights Magazine. The Thompson Family moved to Brontë, Oakville where she attended St. Anne's School in the gifted program and was an Altar server at St. Dominic Parish. Angela spent her childhood summers in Cottage Country or traveling North America. She took an interest in Film, Animation and Bluegrass during a trip to California where she cheered on her Father and Friends at the annual Snoopy World Hockey Tournament. It was in during this time that she enjoyed a memorable trip to Universal Studios which also inspired her Mum to seek employment with 20th Century Fox. Angela recollects the joy of watching a VHS screen test, "The 'Alien' was there behind Mum who nonchalantly breaks the silence, 'Honey are you home from Hockey?' The 'Alien' is in frame with goop dripping as she continues to say 'your equipment stinks! Take it straight to the laundry room' (Alien). On a separate occasion, I watched her call out 'What would you like for dinner tonight Honey' and suddenly out pops Charlie Sheen who sends in a Chicken Arrow and she replies 'That will do!'(Hot Shots! Part Deux). It was a hoot! Growing up, Film to me meant Fun and Family and that still applies today. " Angela began preforming in local amateur productions, she trained at the Milton Youth Theater Productions in the 'Triple Threat" program where she studied singing, dancing and acting. By the age of ten, she was opening with the Canadian Anthem on the morning PA system for her school. Angela performed live on the John Tesh Radio Show Children's Christmas Edition. She preformed with the touring Oakville Children's Choir and was voted 'most likely to be an Opera singer or director' by her peers. Catching the eye of casting directors from an early age, Angela's Parents decided it was best for her to focus on her energy into Sport, Music and Community Service. Angela served her hometown as a Newspaper Carrier for the Oakville Beaver, a St. John Ambulance Squadron Leader and Volunteer Medical Responder. Musically gifted played several instruments yet took an interest in directing and composing. Angela played for the Oakville Soccer Club where she was awarded 'Best Defense Player' with hopes to play as one of the youngest players to join the Canadian Olympic Team. She played field hockey in high school along playing flute in the jazz band. She sang worship at Christian School and conditioned athletically in boxing and rowing. "I was very fortunate to be raised in an environment that introduced me to people with creative vision and people who encouraged excellence". With a flair for the dramatic arts and a passion for literature, Angela conducted her own Investigative Journalism Project. She received a personalized award called "Brain On Fire" at graduation for her short film based on PTSD Concussions and was noted as a young director to watch by Waterfront Magazine. Angela was heavily interviewed during the event as a Creative Activist speaking on "Artistic Expression" the "importance of taking a stand for Women's Rights" that "breastfeeding ones child in public should not be a crime; a person makes derogatory comments should be" to use "Art as the Message". Historically speaking, it is a fact that women have been arrested and often charged with public indecency for bearing their nipple in public. Angela was then painted for a cause in front of over 2 million spectators as 'living' art. Andy Golub paints what comes to him intuitively with each Model and revealed Angela as the 'Eye of Providence'. Golub's project came prior to the #FreeTheNipple Campaign both of which stood for solidarity on woman's rights. Today, breastfeeding is legal in all 50 states.
