After parting ways with her longtime manager, producers, and ending a serious relationship, Houghton moved from Los Angeles back to the Dallas area to be back with her family. She changed her social media usernames to @callhercrystal, posting content to the platforms under the name Crystal. She hinted at new music under this new name, but it was never released.
