An ardent lover of pets, she often celebrated their birthdays. She has acted in lead as well as in supporting roles in a fairly large number of Punjabi language movies, and occasionally takes up the role of a supporting actress in Hindi movies. She has also directed some Punjabi movies like 'Qurbani Jatt Di'. She is married to Upvan Sudarshan, a practicing architect and a film producer and director. They are working on several film projects in Hindi and Punjabi that should be released in the near future.
