In March, 2018, he participated in the rally against ending of DACA program by Trump. The rally was organized by the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) in front of Trump Tower for a clean DREAM Act. Ramirez-Caminatti was one of the legal advisers of the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in creating Executive Order 170.1., that requested federal law enforcement agencies to have a court order to access state buildings.

2015

Since 2015, Favio Ramirez-Caminatti has been an executive director of El Centro del Inmigrante, a nonprofit community organization (established in 1997) providing free legal, financial and educational programs and jobs for immigrants including undocumented people. The center is also involved in various humanitarian and social projects supporting immigrant communities of New York state. In January, 2017, a week into Trump's administration, the organization held a vigil for immigrant and Muslim rights, expressing concerns of growing Islamophobia in the United States.

Favio Ramirez-Caminatti was born on March 12, 1984 in Florida, Uruguay. A son of Maria del Huerto and Marcel, he grew up in Florida and Sarandí Grande. Ramirez-Caminatti comes from the working-class family with Italian roots. He attended Interamerican University of Puerto Rico where he studied psychology and biology, and Mitchell Hamline School of Law where he studied law. While in Uruguay, Ramirez-Caminatti founded a dance academy with the focus on traditional folk music of Latin America. Before coming to the US in 2014, Ramirez-Caminatti lived and studied in Puerto Rico, Argentina and Brazil.
