Burleigh landed his first real music industry related job as (2nd) Assistant Mastering Engineer at the defunct Custom Duplication, Inc. studios (CDI), Culver City, CA. (1981). There, he re-mastered and duplicated many projects; i.e., for such noted talents as Michael Jackson & Quincy Jones' "E.T. Storybook" (33' 1/3 LP-Vinyl version) and notably the world famous 'cassette tape series' K-Tel Records (uncredited for his (2nd) assistant re-mastering engineer skills).

As a young teen, he ran personal errands (coffee, food and the like) for Hal Collins (II) (Editor, All in the Family (1971 TV series)) out of Hal's studio apartment in Hollywood, California.
